OBITUARY
Kendriya Vidyalaya Airforce ,Makarpura ,Baroda pays its sincere homage to Shri Keshav Das Gupta ,a primary teacher of our vidyalaya on his sad and untimely demise on 14-07-2010 .He was born on 06-08-1954 .A highly qualified personality , he joined the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan on 12-07-1981 . He was a very loving , caring and affectionate teacher for his students and a very hardworking, sincere and efficient teacher for his higher authorities. The staff of Kendirya Vidyalaya, AFS Makarpura, Baroda will remember him as a jovial and social person and pray to god to give solance to the divine soul.

KV News(18.07.10): Technothlon 2010 by IIT Guwahati was conducted in Vidyalaya on 18th July,10 Sunday. Around 224 students participated in which 75 teams were from Junior Squad and 43 teams were from Hauts(Senior) Squad. |

KV News(17.07.10): PTA meeting for students of class XII Science was held on 17th July 2010. Principal has emphasized on students regular attendance. Principal has requested the parents to monitor the progress of their ward after each monthly test. She also told them to meet subject teachers during recess if required. |

KV News( 17.07.10): English debate under CCA was held on 17th July in CCA periods. The topic was “India has the ability to lead the world”. |

KV News( 12.07.10): Oath taking ceremony for house captains for session 2010-11 was held on 12th July 2010. Principal Mrs. Sarita Naswa conferred them with batches and sashes. The House captains are Mas. Ajay Rose(Kalidas House), Ku. Sanhita Banka(Vivekanand House), Ku. Shreya Gaur (Ramanujam House) & Mas. Himanshu Tanwar(Tenzing House). All house captains are from class XI. House vice captains are Ku. Prerna Shukla (Kalidas House), Ku. Anusha(Vivekanand House), Ku. Divyanshi (Ramanujam House) & Ku. Karishma(Tenzing House). All house captains are from class IX. |

KV News( 09.07.10): Plantation Day was held on 09th July 2010. Principal, Teachers and Students planted around 200 tree saplings in Vidyalaya. |

KV News( 03.07.10): Community Lunch for classes V A,B,C under CMP was organised in 5th period. Principal and class teachers had lunch with all students. |

KV News( 03.07.10): A creative writing competition was organised for primary classes in CCA periods. Most of the children from each class took part in this competition. |

KV News( 03.07.10): A Hindi debate competition was organised for Secondary and senior secondary classes in CCA periods. The topic was “Bharat mein vishwaguru banne kee kshmta hai”. A total of 16 students participated in it. |

KV News( 03.07.10): Parent Teacher Association(PTA) meeting was held for class XII commerce in the conference room. Principal Mrs. Sarita Naswa, Class Teacher Mr. S.K. Dash and 23 parents were present. Principal emphasised on Value education and keeping the goal to achieve. |

KV News( 03.07.10): A class under National Adolescent Education Programme was taken by Mr. Rupesh Kumar Singh under which introduction of AEP and Life Skill recognization by World Health Organisation were discussed at length.

Fire safety week was celebrated in Vidyalaya by organizing various (Essay & Drawing Competition, slogan writing Hindi/ English) competitions. At the closing winners were awarded Prizes by wing Cdr. H.H. Nair (Chief Administrative Officer) Air Force Station, Makarpura Vadodara on 24-04-2010. |

JWO A.K Sharma with his team delivered a lecture on fire Safety and demonstrated various types of fire extinguishers along with FFTL (Fire Fighting Truck) on 21-04-2010. |

A Career Counselling Programme on the opportunities in the Profession of Charted Accountancy was conducted on 16-12-2009 by CA of Western India Charted Accountants Students Association. |

A training programme on "National Curriculum Framework 2005" for all teachers was conducted in Vidyalaya in the last week of November. |

Farewell to Chairman VMC :
Air Commodore A. S. Bahal, Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee and Air Officer Commanding, 36 wing, Air Force station, Makarpura was given farewell on 3rd December 2009 by the Vidyalaya Parivar. A memento was presented by the Vidyalaya students. On the next day i.e. 4th December 2009 the farewell was given by Vidyalaya Staff .

ThinkQuest Website Comptition 2009:
Mas. Ayush Garg has awarded a finalists certificate for his contribution in ThinkQuest website compition organised by Oracle ThinkQuest. He has been awarded in a felicitation ceremony held at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi on 20-11-09.

KVS National Social Science Exhibition cum Integration Camp :
3 students have been selected for KVS National Social Science Exhibition cum Integration camp held at KV, Ambala. Kum. Chithira S (Class XI) was selected for Exhibit, Master Rahul Pujari(Class VIII) was selected for Music under Group A & Master Ranjit Tripathy (class XI) was selected for Quiz.
Kum. Chithira S. was awarded cosolation prize and a certificate for her exhibit on Egypt.

Science Exhibit Selected for Nationals:
A science exhibit entitled "Climate Change, Causes and Consequences" has been selected for National Science Exhibition. The Model was developed by Mas. Anand, Mas. Shivam, Kum. Preeti and Kum. Jyoti of class XI Science.

A lecture on Prevention of Heart Disease was conducted by eminent Doctors of Baroda Heart Institute and Research Cetre on 16-10-2009.

Students awarded in Hindi Questionare :
Hindi Questionare was organised by Gujrat Refinery on the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada under the guidline of NARAKAS on 23rd September 09 at KV, Harni Road Baroda. Three Students of thisVidyalaya participated in it and two of them Mas. Mohit Gunwal and Shuvam got prizes.

Career in Indian Air Force, A guidence programme :
Career counselling on joining of Indian Air force was conducted in Vidyalya on 14.9.2009 specially for class XII students. Group captain Baladitya, Wing Commander Karvatkar, Sumit Yadav, Squadron leader Preeti Upadhyay Flight Lieutenant K. Sandeep Rao and Flying Officer Anuradha Singh along with other staff conducted the programme. Chairman VMC Air Cmde. A.S. Bahal was the Chief Guest.

Traffic Guidence :
Awareness about traffic followed by a quiz show was organised in the vidyalaya by Sub Inspector(Traffic) Mr. Rahim Sheikh on 11.09.2009.

Scout & Guide Camp :
Scout and guide camp was held in the Vidyalya. Class VI, VII and VIII students of scout and guide were tested for Pratham Sopan, Dwitiya Sopan and Tritiya Sopan respectively on 10.09.2009.

GAIL Award :
Two students of this Vidyalaya Ku. Preeti Bhardwaj and Mas. Vinit Kumar Dahiya (both now in XI Sc.) have been selecte for the GAIL award 2009. The award is given for getting the maximum marks in Hindi Subject in CBSE( Xth) examination 2009. Both have scored 95 out of 100 in the said exam. The award ceremony is to be held on 19th September 2009.

JWO A.K.Sharma (Indian Air Force) with his team presented a lecture to teachers on Cause and Prevention of Fire on 31st August 2009. He has demonstrated variouse types of fire extinguishers.
